Overview:
Discovery Education is looking for a highly skilled marketing automation manager to develop and oversee the strategic operation of our automated marketing platform, including building and supporting standard programs such as email communications, lead capture, lead scoring, nurturing and integration with CRM. This role will work with internal clients to implement marketing automation best practices and deliver world-class campaigns/communications.

You will also work with marketing, sales, and other stakeholders to assist in strategy and oversee the design, execution and tracking of multi-channel marketing programs using the marketing automation platform Pardot that is integrated with Salesforce.

Responsibilities:
• Work with internal clients to understand, plan, build and execute email communications, marketing automation campaigns and nurture programs in a flexible and timely manner that meets business objectives
• Develop audience segments, lists and reporting mechanisms to drive engagement and demonstrate success factors and ROI
• Monitor analyze and report on critical metrics including email marketing results and engagement through the customer journey
• Identify opportunities for testing and recommendations for program improvements
• Manage campaign budgets, optimizing spend and performance based on results
• Continuously evaluate emerging digital technologies and brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
• Collaborate with internal team members as well as agencies and other vendor partners (as required)

Knowledge & Skills:
• Pardot Marketing Automation experience strongly preferred
• Salesforce experience strongly preferred
• Deeply analytical and a data-driven thinker
• Strong quantitative, strategic, and data visualization skills highly recommended, and working knowledge of HTML/CSS is preferred
• Understand the esoteric nature of email design, delivery and analytics and be able to effectively communicate this to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to find solutions where there isn’t a clear one in sight
• Highly creative with experience in finding target audiences and devising digital campaigns that inform, engage, and stimulate usage
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a variety of audiences, including senior management, stakeholders and external agencies
• Basic understanding of web design and development project management
• Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
• Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
• Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
• Excellent project management skills with an ability to set and achieve goals, meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Professional Experience: At least 3-5 years digital marketing experience with demonstrated success creating and implementing effective email campaigns using Marketing Automation
• Education: BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
• Education industry experience a plus
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills that foster teamwork, build confidence and support for one’s ideas
• Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach
• Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations
• Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes
• Legal right to work in the United States
